Will My Client Qualify For LTCI

Not everyone will qualify for long-term care insurance.

While we purchase it with money, we actually buy it with our health. And the older a client is the less likely that their health will be sufficient to qualify for long-term care insurance. While the underwriters do look for reasons to say yes, the myriad of maladies that people are suffering on a chronic basis, whether it’s diabetes, whether it’s a previous stroke, whether it’s high blood pressure in combination with, you know, some other maladies such as COPD or emphysema, you know, there’s a wide range of things that will disqualify them.

You can ask some preliminary questions. We do have a a great intake form that you can utilize, but we don’t want you to get mired into the detail, you know, unless there is a very distinctive health issue such as a stroke, or, cancer or Alzheimer’s, you know, generally assume that—in a very short time—our advocates will ask the questions necessary to ascertain their eligibility.
