Many people mistakenly believe that if they receive long-term care benefits from Medicaid, they will automatically lose their home to the state when they pass away. This misconception stems from Medicaid liens and estate recovery programs.

While states are required to have a program to recoup resources spent on Medicaid recipients, each state implements these programs with varying levels of intensity.

Hear from guest presenter Zach Bloxham, J.D., Learning Faculty, Elder Law & Estate Planning at WealthCounsel, as he reviews the different tools Medicaid agencies use to preserve claims and collect funds after a Medicaid recipient has passed away.

During the session, you will learn:

  • What to look for in your state’s Medicaid regulations
  • How to advise clients in this scenario
  • Strategies to help clients protect their most valued assets
